Vitamin Complex
The vitamin complex found in HIP’s products contains components such as Niacin,
Potassium, Riboflavin and vitamin B-6 to improve health and give the body important
restorative elements. As a whole, the B vitamin complex functions to assist in the
formation of red blood cells and brain chemicals and production and maintenance
of body cells, as well as elevate mental ability, brain processes and immune function.
Alcohol consumption and especially overindulgent consumption depletes and destroys
B group vitamins in the body. These vitamins play an essential role in metabolism,
water retention and energy, however, the body cannot store most B vitamins and therefore
they must be replenished immediately if lost from the body. HIP’s products contain
a mixture of the B group vitamins that includes B-2 (riboflavin), B-3 (niacin),
B-5 (pantothenic acid), B-6 (pyridoxine), and B-12 (cyanocobalamin). Specifically,
vitamins B-5 and B-6 promote metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats to promote
liver function and produce energy, which is especially vital to combat the effects
of too much alcohol intake.
Ginkgo Biloba
(A.K.A fossil tree, maidenhair tree, Japanese silver apricot, baiguo, bai guo ye,
kew tree, yinhsing) is a wonder herb that enhances memory retention, improves mental
clarity and increases reaction time by enhancing circulation to the brain. Ginkgo
has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years and used to treat ailments
from asthma and bronchitis to fatigue and ringing in the ears. Chinese monks believe
the herb to be sacred and are credited with keeping it in exisistence. Currently
Ginkgo has been included in remedies to slow Alzheimer’s, dementia, sexual dysfunction
and even multiple sclerosis. Ginkgo increases blood flow to the brain and throughout
the body, which increases the transportation of blood and oxygen to the organs.
This herb has also been known to relieve tension and anxiety, restore energy and
even elevate and enhance moods. Because Ginkgo helps increase circulation in the
body, it promotes health and wellness in a variety of different organs including
the heart, brain, blood vessels, central nervous system, eyes and ears.
Caffeine
Caffeine is a stimulant that wards off drowsiness and restores alertness and has
been shown to improve breathing. Studies show that 90% of Americans consume caffeine
in one way or another every day of their lives. Caffeine can be found in coffee,
tea, soda and even chocolate. Caffeine enters the bloodstream and the effects can
be felt about 10 minutes after it is consumed. Its staying power is quite remarkable
and it usually takes about 6 hours for half of the caffeine consumed to be eliminated
from the body.
CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)
Studies show that CLA works three ways to help you achieve your diet goals. CLA
interferes with a substance in your body called lipoprotein lipase that helps store
fat in your body. CLA helps your body use its existing fat for energy. CLA increases
lean muscle tissue, which naturally slims your body and makes you feel strong and
healthy. And the more muscle you have, the more calories your body uses in order
to function, thereby speeding up the fat burning process.
MCT (Medium Chain Tryglycerides)
Medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) are fats that contain 6, 8, 10, or 12 carbons.
The number of carbons distinguishes them from long chain (14 or more carbons) or
short chain (2 or 4 carbons) fats. The length of the carbon chain affects function
in the body. MCTs are absorbed rapidly and burned for immediate energy whereas other
fats are absorbed and metabolized slowly. MCT’s improve endurance performance, promotes
fat burning, spares muscle glycogen, increases metabolic rate and maintains muscle
mass.
Enova Oil (Diacylglycerol Oil)
Diacylglycerol is a natural component of edible oils that has metabolic characteristics
that are distinct from those of triacylglycerol. Foods containing diacylglycerol
oil promote weight loss and body fat reduction and are useful as an adjunct to diet
therapy in the management of obesity.
Synephrine (Bitter Orange Extract)
Synephrine is the main "active" compound found in the fruit of a plant called Citrus
aurantium. The fruit is also known as zhi shi (in traditional Chinese medicine)
and bitter orange in other parts of the world. Synephrine is chemically very similar
to the ephedrine and pseudo-ephedrine found in many OTC cold/allergy medications
and in a number of weight loss and energy supplements. It increases metabolic rate,
increase caloric expenditure as a fat burner, promotes weight loss and increases
energy levels.
Phosphatidylserine
a phospholipid nutrient found in fish, green leafy vegetables,
soybeans, and rice, and is essential for the normal functioning of neuronal cell
membranes, activating protein kinase C (PKC), which has been shown to be involved
in memory function. It has been demonstrated to speed up recovery, prevent muscle
soreness, improve well-being, and possess ergogenic properties in athletes involved
in cycling, weight training and endurance running. PS has been reported to be an
effective supplement for combating exercise-induced stress and preventing the physiological
deterioration that accompanies too much exercise. PS has been shown to enhance mood
in a cohort of people during mental stress.
Piperine Extract (Bioperine)
A standardized extract containing the active alkaloid piperine, derived from black
pepper and/or long pepper, with thermogenic properties. Co-ingestion of piperidine
enhances the bioavailability of various nutrients, including beta-carotene, curcumin,
selenium, pyridoxine and coenzyme Q10. In addition, this agent exerts anti-inflammatory
and anti-tumor activities and may enhance the production of serotonin. It is also
used as an anti-depressant and stress reliever and enables more efficient absorption
of needed or targeted nutrients during the digestive process.
Yohimbine HCL
Yohimbine is an alkaloid found in the inner bark of a tree that grows in Southern
Africa, Corynanthe yohimbe. Yohimbe has been used for centuries as an aphrodisiac,
and alkaloids derived from this tree have been studied in depth. Yohimbine
is now used primarily in the treatment of obesity, therefore is a great source for
weight loss.

L-Taurine
Taurine is an amino acid that helps enhance the effects of caffeine.
It is found in bile acids, which help to absorb fat and fat soluble vitamins. Taurine
acts to regulate heartbeat, maintain cell stability and prevent over activity of
the brain. It is involved in several pathways related to metabolism by
moving sodium and potassium molecules in and out of cells. Taurine
acts as a detoxifier required for fat absorption. Oddly enough, researchers
did not know how beneficial taurine was to the human body until studies on cats
revealed that it was essential to feline health. Cats with taurine deficiencies
experience problems with the eyes and blood. It was later discovered to show similar
effects in infants. Taurine is now a common component of most baby formulas.

Glucuronolactone
Glucuronolactone is found naturally in the body as a substance produced by the metabolism
of glucose in the human liver. It fights fatigue and promotes a sense
of well being. Glucuronolactone is useful for anyone wanting more energy, and is
a popular way to boost exercise intensity and workout performance, or to improve
mood and alertness. Some of the benefits linked with Glucuronolactone
include its effect as an aid to memory retention, concentration and reaction time.
It will also promote a positive mood. Glucuronolactone will also be
helpful in ridding the body of harmful substances and providing an instant energy
boost.
Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS)
FOS will manipulate colonic pH and microflora content so FOS can play a protective
role against colon cancer. Research has shown decreases in pathogenic colonic bacteria
from FOS. There is evidence that FOS can lower cholesterol and triglycerides. FOS
has shown to reduce colon cancer risk, increase intestinal calcium absorption, reduce
the severity of ulcerative colitis and alleviate antibiotic induced diarrhea.
Sodium Bicarbonate
Sometimes called alkaline salt meaning it has the ability to neutralize or counteract
acids which will reduce heartburn. As an erogogenic aid, it is used by athletes
to combat the fatiguing effects of lactic acid. During very intense exercise, lactic
acid in the muscle cell can lead to premature fatigue and compromise athletic performance.
Therefore, Sodium Bicarbonate improves endurance performance, increases power output
and reduces lactic acid accumulation.
